Supporting You to Live Life Your Way

About Us

At Olive Tree Occupational Therapy, we’re here to help you live life on your terms. We’re a mobile Occupational Therapy service based in Brisbane, offering in-person support across the region and telehealth for those further afield. Our focus is on teens and adults navigating neurodivergence, mental health challenges, or physical disabilities.

We know that therapy needs to fit into your life, not the other way around. That’s why we come to you—whether it’s at home, in your community, or online—so you can get the support you need where you feel most at ease. We’re all about providing real, practical solutions that have a meaningful impact on your everyday life.

At Olive Tree, "Supporting You to Live Life Your Way" isn’t just a phrase—it’s at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re managing neurodivergence, seeking mental health support, or requiring assistance with a physical disability, we’re with you every step of the way, helping you build independence, confidence, and a sense of well-being.

Services We Offer

We offer in-depth functional assessments designed to empower you. Our skilled Occupational Therapist takes the time to understand your unique strengths and challenges in everyday activities—whether at work, home, or in your community. We specialize in complex cases and psychosocial disabilities, ensuring our assessments are comprehensive and tailored to your needs.

Our detailed and thorough reports help you to navigate the services and supports to achieve your goals.

Assessments include:

  • Global Functional Assessments (NDIS)
  • Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Individualised Living Options (ILO)
  • Activities of Daily Living Assessments (TAC, WorkCover)
  • Assistive Technology, Equipment & Aid Prescription
  • Vocational Assessment

Our Comprehensive Functional Assessments are designed to identify the personal, environmental, and occupational strengths and barriers that affect your ability to participate in work, home, and community activities.

We begin by gathering insights through self-reports and functional outcome measures to get a holistic view of your capabilities. By observing you in real-life situations, we can assess how well you perform everyday tasks. We also incorporate standardized functional and cognitive assessments to compare your performance against established benchmarks and population norms.

Through task analysis, we break down the specific physical, cognitive, psychological, and environmental demands you face. We select or tailor additional tools and assessments to best meet your unique needs.

Our reports are crafted to meet medicolegal standards, making them professional, comprehensive, and strategically focused on supporting your goals.

At Olive Tree Occupational Therapy, we create tailored capacity-building programs in collaboration with you and your support network to help achieve your personal goals for work, home, and community participation. Whether in your home, day programs, workplace, or community settings, we utilize smart goal-setting and a person-centered approach grounded in neuro-affirming and evidence-based practices.

By focusing on naturalistic environments, we empower you to build your skills and confidence while navigating and overcoming barriers to participation in everyday activities. Each program is regularly reviewed and adjusted to ensure it aligns with your evolving needs. Our collaborative approach involves working closely with other health professionals, families, and your support network to ensure that the progress you make is fully supported and sustainable.

Programs include:

  • Capacity Building Programs e.g. Independent Living Skills Training for personal hygiene, encouraging healthy routines
  • Disability Prevention e.g. Falls Prevention, reducing work disability due to managing a chronic medical condition
  • Return to Work Programs (current job)
  • Work Transition Programs (new job transition)
  • Assistive Technology Trials

At Olive Tree Occupational Therapy, we help you find the right assistive technology to support your independence and enhance your participation in daily life. Our Occupational Therapist collaborates with you and your support network to assess, trial, and implement equipment that aligns with your unique needs and goals across home, work, and community settings.

Our approach is highly individualized, starting with a thorough assessment to understand your functional needs and preferences. We guide you through each step, from trialing devices to customizing adjustments and training on effective use. Using neuro-affirming and evidence-based practices, we ensure that the technology seamlessly integrates into your life, helping you to overcome barriers and engage fully in meaningful activities.

Our Assistive Technology services include:

  • Mobility aids to enhance safe and independent movement
  • Adaptive equipment to simplify and support daily living tasks
  • Environmental controls to create accessible and user-friendly spaces at home and in the community

With the right assistive technology, you’ll gain tools that empower you to build independence, boost confidence, and work toward your personal goals.

At Olive Tree Occupational Therapy, we provide comprehensive Sensory Profile assessments to help you understand how your sensory processing impacts daily life. Whether you’re navigating challenges at work, in social settings, or at home, a Sensory Profile offers valuable insights into how you experience and respond to sensory information in these environments.

Our assessments identify patterns in your sensory preferences that may be affecting your focus, comfort, and interactions. From there, we work collaboratively with you and your support network to develop personalised strategies that support your unique sensory needs. This may involve adapting environments, modifying routines, or introducing tools to help you achieve sensory regulation.

Our approach is grounded in evidence-based, neuro-affirming practices, designed to support your goals and empower you with greater comfort and confidence in everyday activities.

Jacinta provides the following approach and welcomes all persons to her practice.

  • Provides Neurodivergent Affirming supports that focus on a person’s strengths, encourages a neurodivergent voice, and listens to the lived experience of neurodiverse clients and practitioners.
  • Is an LGBTQIA+ inclusive practice, promoting acceptance, inclusivity, and understanding through client-centered care, considering the unique needs and identities of each individual and creating safe and welcoming environments.
  • Affirms Occupational Justice principles. Occupational outcomes of justice are occupational rights including meaning, participation, choice, and balance. It aims to address cases of occupational injustice, alienation, deprivation, imbalance, and marginalisation.
  • Acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander connection to land, place and waters where we live, work and play.
  • Adheres to the Health Benefits of Good Work, where compelling Australasian and international evidence finds that good work is beneficial to people’s health and well being and that long term work absence, work disability and unemployment generally have a negative impact on health and well being.
